Each year, we like to join in with the celebrations for National Payroll Week, in celebrating our very own team of payroll professionals and to thank them for all their hard work.

National Payroll Week (NPW) is a national event, which takes place annually during the first week of September. It first began in 1998, established by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals with the aim of ‘giving payroll professionals the recognition they deserve’. And 20 years later, NPW is now bigger and better than ever, and celebrated by businesses up and down the country.

It is generally recognised as a time to acknowledge and celebrate the work carried out by all payroll professionals throughout the year, ensuring smooth salary operations, but it is also an opportunity for individuals to enhance their financial literacy through educational events, empowering them to manage their finances effectively.

Our team like to bring in treats and decorate the office with bunting, posters and NPW decorations - and this year is no exception.

Our payroll team were delighted to win the award for Team of the Year at the 2023 Yorkshire Accountancy Awards, when the judging panel commented “Shorts Payroll is a team of unsung heroes. They stand out for continually taking the initiative and producing excellent results. They are an integral part of the overall service provided by their firm and play a pivotal role in its growth.”

Previous years have seen the team making videos of what they like to do when not in the office, sharing their 'day in the life' stories and always celebrating with sweet treats; welcoming other members of the team to share their celebrations.

And finally, here is a lookback over some of the many other images we’ve taken from previous years payroll week celebrations. - Wishing everyone who is celebrating this year, a Happy National Payroll Week 2024.
