Celebrating the amazing women in our team

March 8th each year is International Women's Day, and businesses everywhere are celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of the women within their organisation. We regularly celebrate the milestones and achievements within our team, so now seems an appropriate moment to look back and reflect on just some of the recent achievements of the women that make Shorts the place that it is.

Sue Saxon celebrated 40 years at Shorts

In February this year, we celebrated a landmark event with the 40th Work Anniversary of Tax Compliance Adviser Sue Saxon. Sue celebrated with her team and was surprised with balloons, banners, flowers and champagne.

Alicia Williams promotion to Genus Director

In January we kicked off the new year with the news of Alicia's promotion. Alicia has been an integral member of our team for over 7 years and her promotion was testament to her exemplary skills and is a reflection of the active role she has played in the development of our Genus Management Information offering during that time.

Kirstie Wilson promoted to Audit and Accounts Director

In November we celebrated the promotion of Kirstie Wilson. Kirstie is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and holds a Diploma in Charity Accounting. She is a Xero certified adviser, proficient in many cloud-based accounting systems, such as Xero and Sage and has experience working with both incorporated and unincorporated businesses. In December 2022 Kirstie was also appointed the youngest ever Trustee at Ashgate Hospice.

Team Sparkle Shorts walk for Ashgate Hospice

In July, Brian joined a team of Shorts ladies in the Ashgate Hospice sparkle walk. The team raised over £1,000 and looked spectacular in their sparkly shorts.

Lynne Gill completed a firewalk, Lauren Crampton and Sarah Whitehead jumped out of a plane in a charity skydive for Ashgate Hospice and several of the team are currently in training for both the Sheffield Half Marathon and 10k in support of St Luke's Hospice. There are many things to celebrate and we cannot include everyone here, but we'd like to take a moment to appreciate all of the women who work at Shorts.
