The ceremony welcomed 37 finalists from local businesses to the Virgin Money Lounge, on Fargate in Sheffield – and celebrated 10 winners. On introducing the event, Editor of The Sheffield Star Nancy Fielder said: “We’re here to shout about and celebrate Sheffield. Keep doing what you are doing, it’s what makes our future bright.” Shorts were proud to sponsor the Innovation award which this year, was presented by Sam Newton. This award was presented to a business which identified a need for a new and innovative idea to create a competitive advantage within their sector.   This year’s winner was Sport:80, a business which harnesses the transformative power of technology to deliver solutions that support a sustainable future for sport – well and truly deserved.
