Shorts are delighted to announce the next important step in the firm’s continued expansion by confirming details of our new premises in Sheffield.
Work commenced today (1st October ) on the refurbishment of Cedar House, Napier Street, Sheffield (previously the old DVLA building). It is expected the refurbishment work will take around 2-3 months to complete, allowing the Sheffield office to relocate from its current position on Ecclesall Road in late 2014/early 2015.
The opening of premises on Ecclesall Road in early 2002 marked the beginning of the firm’s expansion into the South Yorkshire region, when at the time only 1 in house partner and 2 staff were located in Sheffield. Over the 12 years that have followed, sustained growth has seen the office grow to employ 2 in house partners and in excess of 20 staff.
Malcolm Pope, Accounts partner based in Sheffield comments “These are exciting times for Shorts, and now is exactly the right time for this move. The growth we have experienced in Sheffield in the last 2 years and that we expect in the immediate future has seen a significant increase in staff numbers: quite simply we have outgrown our current office space. The new premises will allow us to work together in a bright, modern open plan environment representing the progressive forward thinking firm of today, as well as significantly improving our parking facilities for visitors and staff alike.”
Tax partner Scott Burkinshaw adds “At Shorts we pride ourselves on providing a high quality and truly proactive tax service, bringing ideas to our clients. We have found that this progressive and modern approach to tax is attractive to many of today’s successful businesses and individuals and I am confident that the new office will provide us with greater opportunities to further expand in the region.”
Our blog will track the progress of the refurbishments, and include regular progress updates.
