It is clear from talking to my existing clients, as well as attendance at recent national conferences that 2014/5 will represent the toughest year in recent times for most GP’s. A number of factors  are contributing to this:
  • A challenging financial settlement this year from NHS England
  • A drive towards mergers/federations both from local commissioning groups and NHS England
  • The changing pension landscape (both in contributions and tax treatment) which are substantially increasing the cost of this benefit
  • A shortage of GP partners resulting from a combination of older experienced partners taking early retirement and more newly qualified GPs being interested in salaried positions.

Given the backdrop above it is even more important than ever that GPs receive the very best advice and service. As a member of Association of Independent Medical Accountants (AISMA), we are best qualified to deal with the accounting, finance, taxation, practice management and pension issues affecting doctors today. Please do contact us if you want to discuss any issues to do with your GP Practice as we would be happy to help.
