With the help of Chaser app, Shorts' Project team helped one client to recover £145,000 (and counting) in overdue debt.

Many of small businesses face problems with effectively collecting payment from their debtors.  No matter how much advice they receive about credit control best practice, at the end of the day businesses still need to find available time and resources to do it.  The reality is, that small businesses have always got a million other more urgent things on their plates and credit control is put to the back of the queue.

When project manager Alicia Williams joined Shorts' Genus Project team, her previous experience of Chaser was invaluable, as we added the credit control software into our existing app inventory.  Chaser offers consistency to clients, and also provides an automatic sender and recipient escalation feature.

Shorts recently assisted one client with the implementation of Chaser to manage their credit control.   The company's business trades from a dozen or so offices and their credit control function was fragmented across almost as many different people.  After implementing Chaser they rapidly recovered more than £145,000 in overdue debt, just in time to cover payment of their tax bill, preventing them having to dip into their overdraft.

It is our experience that initially, small businesses can be cautious about rushing into new technologies, especially technology to chase payments.   There are typically three reservations;

  • Fearing customers may be sent the wrong email
  • Agreeing payment dates over the phone but Chaser will still send email chasers
  • And the biggest worry, upsetting customers by asking for money.

By demonstrating Chaser, we are able to show how businesses are not losing control,  but regaining it.  We can show you how to tailor the set up to suit your precise needs and how to turn chasing on or off for individual customers or invoices.
