We are delighted to announce the appointment of Rachael Dronfield as Private Client Director.

A Chartered Tax Adviser holding advanced qualifications with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Rachael brings with her over 13 years’ experience working for a top international firm of accountants, specialising in inheritance tax and trust matters.

Over recent years, Shorts have experienced significant growth within the Inheritance tax and financial planning sectors, and in response, have strengthened their team of Wealth Planners and Tax Advisers which now stands at a team of 20 employees, one of the largest in the area.

Shorts’ Private Client department is committed to remaining at the forefront of technical delivery, helping successful individuals, and their families achieve what is important to them.  Whether considering efficient tax-planning, looking into investment advice or planning ahead for retirement, Shorts’ clients can be assured of a tailor made strategy to suit their needs and requirements.

Chris joined Shorts in 1988 and was promoted to partner in 1995. In 1997, he was instrumental in the establishment of the financial services arm of the business, of which he is also a partner. Shorts is one of a minority of firms in the country to achieve Chartered Financial Planners status. This is the industry’s gold standard and confirms that we meet the most rigorous criteria relating to professional qualifications and ethical good practice. Chris leads our Private Client Services team, helping clients to protect their assets through effective tax planning and providing objective, tailor-made financial advice to individuals and business clients. Chris advises on Inheritance Tax matters involving tax-efficient trust and will structures, and is heavily involved in using pensions to assist in property purchase.
