Battling the extremely windy conditions, nine members of the Shorts team completed this year's 2024 Sheffield Half Marathon last weekend.

In recent years, it has become a common sight to see Shorts team members participating in the race. However, this year saw an overwhelming response, when an impressive 11 team members stepped up to the challenge. We were thrilled to see so many of our colleagues eager to join the Sheffield Half Marathon, and many other members of the team were dotted along the route to show support. Additionally, a group of 12 individuals have also committed to completing the Sheffield 10K later in the year, all in aid of fundraising for St. Luke's Hospice.

Responsible for coordinating the event this year was Liam Buttery, Director of our Owner Managed Business team.

Liam said "I have been running for a number of years now, and each year like to challenge myself with various half marathons throughout the year.  When I mentioned to members of our team that I was thinking of running the Sheffield Half Marathon, there was no shortage of people who wanted to put their name in and join me, both experienced runners, but also first-time runners were keen to challenge themselves too which was great!  As a team, we look to support local charities each year, and for this one we chose St. Luke's.  We are delighted to have smashed our £1,000 target and thrilled to support the amazing work that they do in our region."
