Shorts are delighted to announce that we have recently been confirmed as a patron of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce.  A press release issued by the Sheffield Chamber is quoted as saying;

"Based in Chesterfield and Sheffield, Shorts now employ over 100 staff after rapid growth over recent years.  They were recently finalists in the 2016 British Accountancy Awards.

Scott Burkinshaw, Tax Partner at Shorts Chartered Accountants said: “We are delighted to become a patron of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, with whom we’ve developed an excellent working relationship. Both of our organisations are focussed on offering wide ranging and valuable support for businesses in Sheffield and our patronage aligns perfectly with these shared objectives.

“Shorts have invested heavily in the region over recent years, having moved into larger premises in the City in 2014 and strengthened our team with the recruitment of over 30 additional staff.

“We are keen to actively help businesses in Sheffield to flourish and feel that a strong Chamber of Commerce helps enormously in this regard. We look forward to continuing to work closely with the team at The Chamber, helping the City to prosper.”

Sheffield Chamber Executive Director, Richard Wright said: “This  development is a great example of how relationships can develop around mutual goals. Only recently Shorts were appointed as our provider of the R & D Tax Credit service for the Chamber. We did some work together and they approached us about Patronage. We are delighted because it gives us great confidence that the Chamber is doing what business needs."

"I am particularly pleased to get Shorts on board. They cover the region and clearly exemplify the close connection between the Sheffield and Chesterfield business communities. The Chamber always advocates  that economic boundaries transcend political boundaries. Our success as a region will depend on us all working together as a team against common goals. This puts words into action!"

Events at Sheffield Chamber

A wide range of funding and business support options are available to businesses that innovate and want to grow. To kick start this new partnership Sheffield Chamber and Shorts’ Innovation Taxes Group (ITG) are hosting a breakfast seminar to inform business on what support is available and how business can access them.

The event will take place on the 8th February at Sheffield Chamber of Commerce.
