Speaker profiles
Rupert Seggins is a Senior Economic Adviser in the RBS Economics Team. Prior to joining RBS, he worked at HM Treasury and most recently at the British Embassy in Tokyo.
Rupert will look at the current economic situation in China and whether the Greece and Eurozone problems are over. We will discuss interest rates and the UK outlook post-election, and specifically the impact of the Northern Powerhouse and Sheffield City Region devolution on East Midlands and South Yorkshire areas.
Dr Alex Mardapittas is Managing Director of EMSc (UK) Limited. He has an extensive knowledge of software programming and innovative engineering design. Alex studied at Kings College London and then at Brunel University. On completing his research fellowship at the Brunel Centre for Manufacturing Metrology in 1993, he went on to work in professional computer software training and development.
Since then, the company has become an engineering-led market leader, renowned globally for the innovative design of a range of energy saving solutions. The company’s flagship solution Powerstar, devised by Alex, is a voltage optimisation system that works to reduce electricity consumption, and has been heralded as one of the most commercially viable energy saving applications available in the marketplace. He set up EMSc (UK) Ltd in 2001 to provide energy and environmental consultancy to organisations.
