The Chesterfield Festival of Christmas Trees officially opened it's doors this weekend, marking the eleventh year of this local event. From 15 November through to Sunday 30 November 2025, the doors of the Parish Church of St Mary and All Saints - affectionately known as The Crooked Spire - will be open daily to welcome thousands of visitors.
Each year, the festival brings the community together, with more than 20,000 people attending to admire the beautifully decorated Christmas trees displayed throughout the centuries-old church. Shorts is delighted to once again play a part in these celebrations, joining local organisations and community groups in decorating a tree.
Our Commitment to the Festival
Supporting the Festival of Christmas Trees is now a longstanding tradition for Shorts. With our deep-rooted heritage in Chesterfield, it is important to us to be involved in events that unite local residents, businesses, and charities during the festive period.
We also feel privileged that our tree is regularly positioned beside the commemorative plaque of Samuel E. Short, our founder, who not only played a significant role in Chesterfield’s business community, but also served as Alderman, Mayor of Chesterfield, and Churchwarden of the Parish Church.
Entry to the festival is free of charge, making it accessible to everyone who wishes to enjoy the festive spirit. Visitors are encouraged to explore the church at leisure and savour the seasonal decorations, whilst any voluntary donations are warmly welcomed. All contributions play a valuable part in helping to preserve The Crooked Spire and support the church’s charitable work throughout the year.
