Derbyshire and South Yorkshire based Accountancy and Tax Advisory firm, Shorts Chartered Accountants recently advised North Yorkshire based, Harris Irwin Associates Limited (known as Harris Irwin Architects) on a successful fund‑raising to support the practice’s future growth.

Harris Irwin Architects is one of the UK’s leading award‑winning architectural practices, with a strong reputation for delivering high‑quality residential, extra care and dementia care homes and other specialised multi-use developments. The practice also has specialist expertise across the leisure, equestrian, education and housing sectors. Based in Richmond, North Yorkshire, the funding will support the continued expansion of the business, including the opening of a new office in the south of England.

The fund‑raising was led by Shorts with Consultant, Chris Alsop working closely with Shorts’ Tax Partner, David Robinson, who led on the associated tax structuring aspects.

Chris Alsop said: “We are delighted to have brought this fund‑raising to a successful conclusion. Having worked closely with the management team over several months, it has been a pleasure to support their plans for the next stage of growth. Harris Irwin is an impressive business and I am confident it will continue to go from strength to strength.”

The funding was provided by HSBC UK’s Sheffield‑based Commercial Banking team, with the deal led by Senior Relationship Manager Jayne Dannatt. Jayne added Delighted to have been able to assist Mike and Juliette of Harris Irwin Associates Limited with the next stage of their growth and provision of working capital facilities. We hope this is the beginning of a long relationship with HSBC.”
