Following our success at the South Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards earlier this year, we are delighted to announce that Shorts has once again been recognised by Insider, with two shortlisted nominations at the Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards 2026.
The latest nominations build on what has already been a busy year for the firm's Corporate Finance team. Earlier this year, Shorts was shortlisted across four categories at the South Yorkshire event, reflecting the quality and breadth of transactions completed for clients throughout the year.
We were delighted that the nominations were followed by a Deal of the Year win for the Management Buyout of Home Decor, recognising a standout transaction and the expertise of the team behind it.
Now, with further recognition at a Yorkshire-wide level, the team has once again earned a place among the region's leading dealmaking professionals, being shortlisted in the following categories
- Deal of the Year (up to £5m) Management buyout of Home Decor
- Deal of the Year (between £5m-£25m) For our involvement in the Acquisition of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club and Hillsborough Stadium by Arise Capital Partners
The Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards celebrate the advisers, financiers, lawyers and funders behind the transactions that help businesses grow, secure investment, change ownership and realise their long-term ambitions. To be recognised amongst such strong competition from across the county is a significant achievement and a testament to the quality of work delivered by the Shorts Corporate Finance team and the clients they support.
Andy Ryder, Partner and Head of Corporate Finance at Shorts, said:
"To receive further recognition at the Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards, particularly following our success at the South Yorkshire awards, is fantastic news for the whole team. These shortlistings reflect the hard work and commitment of our people, the strength of our relationships with clients and professional contacts, and the quality of the businesses we've had the privilege to advise throughout the year."
"Corporate finance transactions are always a team effort, involving business owners, management teams, funders, legal advisers and many others. We're grateful to everyone who has trusted us to support them."

The shortlistings continue a strong period for Shorts' Corporate Finance team, reinforcing our position as one of the region's leading independent advisers and highlighting the important role South Yorkshire businesses continue to play in driving economic growth and investment across the region.
We look forward to the ceremony and wish all fellow finalists the very best of luck.
