The partners at Shorts are delighted to announce further award nominations in two categories at this years' annual Derbyshire Times Business Awards, which aim to recognise and celebrate the very best in local business and commerce. Following our recent nomination at the British Accountancy Awards, we have been shortlisted in both the 'Customer Service' and 'People Development' Categories at this prestigious local event.

The Derbyshire Times business awards are one of Chesterfield's highest profile awards and this years event takes place on Thursday 10th November 2016 at Casa Hotel, Chesterfield with a Champagne reception followed by the awards ceremony which is this year hosted by Sam Orgrizovic.

Business Awards Category criteria

Customer Service award - "This award will go to the organisation that can best demonstrate that it has the customer at the heart of the business. Entries should include evidence of how the business effectively meets customer’s needs in order to stay ahead of the competition and how the levels of customer services can be measured."

People Development category - "The judges are looking for businesses who invest in their employees providing them with training and development initiatives to benefit their overall performance. Entries will detail the training strategies in place to support the learning and development of staff, the benefits that the training offers to the workforce and how this contributes to the success of the business (financially or through customer service)."

Shorts are also proud sponsors of the Excellence in Manufacturing award at this years' Derbyshire Times Business awards, which will be presented by Howard Freeman to the company "that demonstrates a modern, efficient and innovative approach to manufacturing. It includes a commitment to the excellence and development of its products, a track record for training and passing on skills to future generations and the desire to promote the region as a centre for manufacturing excellence."

Well done to all those nominated for the awards this year.
