Last night saw the annual Yorkshire Accountancy Awards celebrating the achievements of the Accountancy industry within the Yorkshire region. We were delighted to win three awards for Accountancy team, Corporate Finance team and Support team of the year.  Nominations were submitted at the beginning of 2020 with the ceremony streamed online last night. Following a brief introduction and speeches, Shorts were awarded the titles for:

Accountancy team of the year

Summary - The accountancy team of the year award recognises the specialist nature of the accountancy practice and the hard work that is required to not only attract clients, but to keep them.

Support team of the year

Summary - Accountancy practices across Yorkshire require the services and talents of dedicated support teams to ensure they can serve clients effectively and efficiently.

to the needs of the business whilst ensuring 100% availability rate for software applications.
The team's automation and simplication efforts impressed as did their commitment
to working on making the business more environmentally friendly."

 

On receiving the news, Managing Partner Andy Irvine commented “2020 has been a year like no other and whilst we are thrilled that our work has been recognised in this way, the resilience, ingenuity and commitment shown across the whole firm in supporting our clients has been phenomenal and that is the real success story for 2020.  Our IT Team truly deserve to win the Support team of the year, but their continued role in ensuring that Shorts has been able to continue to operate both effectively and efficiently during lockdown has also been pivotal to the continuity of service for our clients."

He concluded "2020 is also the year that Shorts our 130th year milestone and whilst we have been unable to celebrate in the way we had planned, we are delighted to have this opportunity to focus both on the strength of our team and to again be recognised for the quality of the service that we provide to local businesses."

Andy Irvine
