We’re delighted to share the news that Alicia Williams has been promoted to partner, here at Shorts - a well‑deserved milestone that recognises her leadership, expertise and long‑standing contribution to the firm.

Alicia joined Shorts in 2016 and has progressed through several senior roles over the years, becoming a Director in 2024. Her promotion to Partner marks the latest step in a decade‑long career with the firm and reflects our continued commitment to developing and promoting talent from within.

A leader in data, technology and insight

A Chartered Certified Accountant with more than 17 years’ experience, Alicia is also a Xero Specialist, with extensive expertise in cloud accounting implementation, training and process improvement. She has played a central role in the growth and ongoing success of our Genus management information offering, which helps clients use data and insight to drive better business decisions.

For several years, Alicia has independently led the Genus team, supporting sustained growth, market‑leading outputs and continued industry recognition. Alongside this, she has been actively involved in Shorts’ AI and data analytics work, helping shape how we use technology to support clients now and in the future.

Her influence also extends beyond the firm, through speaking engagements, industry events and involvement in professional networks – all helping to raise Shorts’ profile within the wider business and accounting community.

“A supportive and inclusive culture”

Commenting on her promotion, Alicia Williams said:

“When I joined Shorts, I quickly discovered a supportive and inclusive culture where people are genuinely encouraged to develop. I have had the opportunity to progress through clearly defined career paths, access a wide range of training, and collaborate closely with clients to help them grow their businesses. Becoming a Partner is something I am incredibly proud of, and I am excited to continue and play a part in the ongoing development and growth of the firm.”
