One particular article in this quarter’s AISMA newsline may cause concern amongst GPs – specifically a ‘big tax hit is on the way’.

Whilst the article is correct, in essence it will not affect all GPs and is more likely to affect those GPs on higher incomes. GPs who therefore work part time or whose income is less than £110,000 are less likely to be affected by the rules.

We have recently written to GPs on higher incomes asking that they return an authority for us to request a pension savings statement from the NHS Pension Agency. However, if you did not receive this letter but have concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

If there is anything contained in the AISMA Summer Newsletter that you would like to discuss in more detail then please do not hesitate to contact a member of the healthcare team for advice on 0114 2671617 or 01246 559955.
