Earlier this week, Shorts came away victorious after once again entering a team into the annual Business 5s charity football tournament, raising funds for Rotherham Hospice in the process.

The matches were played out during a lovely, sunny summer’s afternoon, and the tournament displayed a high standard of play with some tough games played throughout.

Each and every player performed brilliantly throughout the tournament and we're delighted that their hard work was rewarded when the Shorts team eventually came out on top, lifting the trophy in celebration.

Playing a total of seven games throughout the tournament, the team played the following matches with results as follows:

Fixtures and results

Shorts 6 - 0 Lablogic - Group D

Shorts 3 - 3 Brown McLeod - Group D

Shorts 2 - 0 Radius Aerospace - Champions League Group B

Shorts 3 - 0 Investec - Champions League Group B

Shorts 4 - 1 Gravitate Accounting - Champions League Quarter Final

Shorts 3 - 2 Brown McLeod - Champions League Semi Final

Shorts 2 - 0 Monaghans - Champions League Final

As 2024 regional champions, Shorts now progress through to the National Finals in Birmingham to represent the region against the rest of the country.

We raised over £200 through our JustGiving page and delighted that by winning, Rotherham Hospice receive a further donation of £350 direct from the tournament organisers.
