Shorts Chartered Accountants are delighted to announce the appointment of Matthew Milnes who joins the firm from Lloyds Banking Group this month.  Matt joins as a manager in the firm’s Corporate Finance team in response to growth experienced in the department following the appointment of Andy Ryder earlier this year.

Corporate Finance Partner Andy Ryder comments “This is yet another quality appointment for Shorts, as Matt brings with him a solid background in Corporate Finance and an insight into commercial banking. His experience includes support and advice for acquisitions, disposals, MBOs and MBIs, ranging from small and medium companies through to international groups.  Matt’s experience in preparing due diligence reports, business plans and forecasts for fund raising assignments makes him a strong addition to the team.  Matt’s most recent position within Lloyds Banking Group also means he brings with him valuable experience of the banking sector derived from supporting his clients with their lending requirements and working with the bank’s credit function to ensure appropriate proposals were implemented for both the client and the bank.”

Matt commented “I am delighted to be joining Shorts and looking forward to supporting the continuing growth of the corporate finance offering for the firm.  This is a highly regarded independent practice and it is evident that they are focused on meeting all aspects of their clients' needs and delivering the best advice available.”

Paul Beeson, Shorts’ Senior Partner added “The firm has experienced significant growth over the past 2 years, and attracted many high calibre professionals over the past year with a significant number of new staff joining us in the last 2 months. Matt is a fantastic appointment for the firm, as he adds real strength to what is already an established and well respected team. His appointment is further testament to our long term strategy of investing in people in order to deliver the very best for our clients.”

Matt will be based predominantly in Shorts’ Sheffield offices, which are due to move to prestigious new premises late 2014 / early 2015.
