An energetic team of six from Shorts have taken part in the Asda Foundation 10k. The group sped through the streets of Sheffield city centre to raise money for the well deserved St Luke's Hospice. St Luke's work tirelessly to care for those with advanced and progressive illnesses which have no cure.
The speedy six who took part in the run are Alexandra Neller, Alice Stacey, Sam Newton, Martin Dean and Temi Ayodeji. Before the run Andy Irvine, partner at Shorts said “St Luke’s are a very worthy local charity that Shorts are proud to support, good luck to our team taking part” All the participants from Shorts did incredibly well.
Running alongside over 3,600 others, Temi finished in 218th place with a chip time of 43 minutes and 19 seconds, Sam Newton followed shortly after at 43 minutes 51 seconds. Alexandra Neller was the 76th woman to cross the line with the chip time of 48 minutes and 58 seconds. The day was made even more successful by Abdul beating his predicted time and Alice hitting her own personal target, Martin Dean missed his ideal time by a mere 18 seconds!
We would like to congratulate our athletic bunch for taking part and thank everyone who donated.
