The Shorts team joined in with 2024’s Football Shirt Friday, a wonderful initiative supporting Cancer Research UK’s Bobby Moore Fund. This event not only raises awareness but also provides direct support to vital research in the fight against bowel cancer.
Set up in memory of legendary World Cup-winning England captain Bobby Moore, who sadly died of bowel cancer in 1993, the fund enables pioneering research dedicated to early detection and diagnosis, improved treatments, and reducing inequalities in cases.
This was a new event in the Shorts charity fundraising calendar, and we are always looking for different and varied ways to engage with important causes.

The Shorts Keepy-Uppy Challenge
The Shorts team kitted themselves out in their favourite footballing colours and donated to the Bobby Moore Fund, but we didn’t stop there. The Shorts Keepy-Uppy Challenge also took place, pitting the Shorts team against one another in a friendly but competitive keepy-uppy competition.
Whoever could keep the football in the air the longest using only their feet, legs, shoulders, chest or head, would be declared the winner.
It was great to see so many Shorts team members participate in the challenge.
