With little over five weeks of training left, a team of 8 from Shorts have once again signed up for the Sheffield Half Marathon - this year raising funds in support of Rotherham Hospice. This year's event takes place on Sunday 23rd March 2025.
It's become a common sight over recent years, to see Shorts entering a team in the race, with last year's 11 fundraising in support of another local hospice, St Luke's.
Rotherham Hospice provides essential care and support for individuals facing life-limiting illnesses and their families. With a dedicated team of professionals, volunteers, and supporters, the hospice offers a safe, comforting space where patients receive expert palliative care tailored to their needs.
Every donation helps Rotherham Hospice continue to provide compassionate care, whether through providing pain relief, emotional support, or a peaceful environment during life’s most challenging moments. Your contribution ensures that no one in Rotherham faces these difficult times alone.
Thank you to anyone who considers donating and helping us bring comfort and dignity to patients and their families in Rotherham, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Liam Buttery, Director of our Owner Managed Business team is a trustee at Rotherham Hospice, and is once again coordinating our entry.
Liam said "I have been running for many years now, and like to challenge myself each year with various half marathons throughout the year. After running the Sheffield Half last year in support of St Luke's, there was no shortage of people who wanted to once again put their name in and join me; experienced runners and also first-time runners were keen to challenge themselves too which was great! As a team, we look to support local charities each year, and for this one I am delighted that we have chosen Rotherham Hospice. Last year we raised over £1,000 running the Sheffield Half and it would be amazing if we could match that this year, in support of the amazing work that Rotherham Hospice do."
The team would like to give a big thank you to everyone who helps by supporting them in this challenge.
