Shorts are delighted to congratulate Jackie Neal from Abbey Forge Products Ltd on winning the Business Person of the year award last week at the Sheffield Business awards 2014.
Sky Sports and Channel 4 broadcaster Charlie Webster hosted the event, and partner Howard Freeman presented the award on behalf of Shorts. Four individuals had been shortlisted for the award: alongside Jackie Neal of Abbey Forged Products Ltd were Lynne Darwin of Building Product Solutions, Hans Hux of B Braun Medical Ltd and Peter Lowes of Origin Broadband.
Howard commented “I am absolutely delighted that Jackie won the Business person of the year award this year. The strength of the shortlist is testament to the quality and strength of business individuals within the Sheffield region and we wish all the shortlisted companies continued success into the future”
The Sheffield Business Awards are seen by many as the premier business awards evening. This year it celebrated its 13th year, and Shorts were proud sponsors of the Business Personality of the year award. Held on 4th December at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre the event was organised by the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and The Star, and designed to recognise and reward Sheffield business success. Categories are refreshed each year, to reflect relevant expertise and skills and the winners are automatically entered into the Sheffield City Region Awards.

Howard Freeman
Howard joined Shorts as a partner in 2003 and has a varied client base made up of private companies, partnerships and sole traders ranging from small businesses to large groups. Drawing on the experience gained through working for an international firm, Howard provides commercial business advice, providing accounting, audit and tax solutions for companies and businesses of all shapes and sizes. Howard is one of a handful of professionals in the area who is both a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser. He is often involved in advising on business acquisitions and disposals and heads our forensic accounting work.
